Winning in China - December 2010
China's talent landscape is changing; Chinese
companies are gradually gaining traction on the international stage, meaning
foreign companies operating in China will face greater challenges finding and
retaining the talent they need, particularly at the manager level, where
shortages are most severe. Competition for talent can only intensify as the
Chinese economy grows, and this whitepaper outlines the challenges facing
Chinese businesses and offers advice to both groups of companies.

Is Talent Holding You Back? Designing
Workforce Strategy for Sustained Business Growth - October 2010
This whitepaper identifies that most
organisations are thinking short-term about their talent needs and workforce
strategy in general. Even those who are comfortable with where they are right
now need to consider whether the workforce strategy they have in place will be
able to generate the talent needed to achieve the vision and long-term goals of
the organisation. Human Resource leaders not only need to help the organisation
identify the gaps between their business strategy and workforce strategy, but
they also need to design a roadmap for success.

Workforce Strategy Survey: Global Key
Findings - October 2010
The global results from Manpower’s Workforce
Strategy Survey finds that most organisations are thinking only about the here
and now and are not positioned to build the workforce they need to achieve the
company’s business strategy in the future. Nearly one quarter of employers
across 36 nations concede that their organisation’s workforce strategy does not
support their business strategy or don’t know if it does or not. Even more
alarming - among those two subsets of respondents, more than half admit that
they are not doing anything about it.

Strategic Migration - A Short-Term
Solution to the Skilled Trades Shortage - August 2010
Skilled trade positions are the hardest to fill,
according to Manpower’s recent global Talent Shortage Survey. Globally,
organisations are facing a shortage not of highly educated talent, but
day-to-day on the ground workers with traditional skills; like butchers,
electricians, carpenters, cabinet makers, masons/bricklayers, plumbers and
welders. Our latest World of Work Insight paper explores how this decreasing
supply of specialised skills can impact the progress of national and
international communications, transportation and building projects and slow down
economic growth.
